An independent investigation conducted by an international organization, Voice of the Voiceless for Human Rights (VSV), has found that recent massacres committed by the Congolese military FARDC, and its genocidal allies FDLR in Goma amount to a possible crime against humanity, and a crime of genocide. These crimes fall within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The investigations found that the FARDC/FDLR, without provocation, opened fire on peaceful demonstrators, who had given notice of their demonstration to security organs ahead of time, as provided by the law.
The investigations reveal that between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., hooded soldiers from the dreaded elite presidential guard invaded the premises of the Sauti ya Neno radio station by climbing over the fence.
Once inside the radio station, they kidnapped two journalists who were live on air. They were dragged like animals towards waiting army jeeps. While this was happening, the investigations found that other soldiers were busy looting and vandalizing the radio station.
Things got out of hand when one of the journalists, a female, refused to board the army jeeps, demanding that her rights be respected. Infuriated, the soldiers shot her dead on the spot!
When the protesters who had gathered for a peaceful demonstration started protesting the brutal killing, the soldiers opened fire indiscriminately, killing many demonstrators.
The investigation could not ascertain the exact number of victims of the massacres because the soldiers immediately repatriated the dead bodies to Ndosho military hospital. However, it is estimated that more than 180 demonstrators, as well as unconcerned residents, were killed on that day.
The investigators are still wondering what presidential guards, who include FDLR in their ranks, were doing in Goma, carrying out the responsibilities designated to the police.
The conclusion, however, is that they were under the express instructions of Tshisekedi himself, who had sent them to kill as many people as possible so that he could use that to scapegoat Rwanda.
