Kilorirwe residents call for return of M23 due to heightened insecurity caused by FARDC, and allied terrorist groups
Residents of Kilorirwe of Masisi region are calling for the return of the M23 rebels to rescue them from persistent attacks conducted by the regime forces- FARDC and its coalition of FDLR, Mai-Mai, Nyatura, CODECO, PARECO, APCLS who massacre people and take their livestock.
The M23 fighters, in compliance with the Luanda roadmap, withdrew from Kilorirwe and handed over to the Burundian contingent under the regional forces- EACRF which pledged to protect the people from attacks by the FARDC and their coalition.
However, no sooner had the M23 left Kilorirwe than the FARDC and its coalition of armed groups that include FDLR came and started killing residents, including women and children and taking away their livestock.
Coincidentally, Tshisekedi and his cronies have showered praises on the Burundi EACRF contingent who they have said are “not like the other contingents.”
The reason for this glossy evaluation of the Burundian contingent by the Kinshasa regime is because the contingent allows the FARDC and their coalition of armed groups to freely operate in areas they took over from the M23 fighters.
This passive approach by the Burundian contingent has emboldened the FARDC and their coalition to heighten their attacks as revenge against those they perceive to be collaborators of the M23 Movement, which is puting the lives of many people in danger.
