Major General Bruno Mpezo, the 34 divisional commander of the FARDC, FDLR, Nyatura, Maimai, CODECO and Wazalendo, has revealed that the Kinshasa regime is finalising plans to “re-take all territories occupied by the M23 in a few days”. General Mpezo made these remarks during the celebrations to mark Independence Day in DRC.

The M23 Movement flagged this as proof of violation of the ceasefire called by the Luanda Summit and called on regional and international stakeholders to take note, promising to defend themselves in the event that the FARDC coalition implement their threats.

The beating of was drums by the Kinshasa regime follows reports that Tshisekedi has been shopping around for lethal weapons, and that his latest acquisition has been the CH-4 drones from China and the Mwari light attack and surveillance aircraft designed by Paramount.

While the Kinshasa regime continues to hoodwink the region and the world that they are committed to the Luanda and Nairobi peace initiatives, in reality they are undermining the efforts by their utterances and actions.

It is rather unfortunate that regional leaders have expressed their goodwill by expensing their energy and resources hoping for a reciprocation of goodwill by the Kinshasa regime. As it is, this is not happening.
