Congolese ruler Tshisekedi is being abandoned by allies as his true colors start to show, through his habit of projecting his failures (and terrible crimes) upon others starts to unravel
LUCHA, the notorious ethnocentric civil society organization that has been helping Tshisekedi to externalize his failures has suddenly jumped ship. If their strong condemnation of the brutal assassination of the opposition politician Chérubin Okende in Kinshasa on July 13 is anything to go by, then it is safe to say that LUCHA has finally left the Tshisekedi bandwagon.
Having established themselves as Tshisekedi’s official mouthpiece in the civil society circles, it seems the organization can only travel with him so far, since it is becoming apparent that he has completely lost the plot and evil can only be covered up to a certain limit.
Without mincing words, Tshisekedi’s former civil society allies of LUCHA have accused Tshisekedi of being responsible for the assassination.
LUCHA also revealed that the assassination of the opposition politician is not an isolated case because Tshisekedi has rolled out a campaign of conducting politically motivated arbitrary arrests, illegal detentions, and obstructions of movement, intimidation, harassment, kidnappings, etc. targeting opposition figures, civil society and Catholic clergy who dare to criticize the general governance of the country.
LUCHA reminded the world about Tshisekedi’s incriminating alibi when he publicly congratulated security organs for having coordinated the brutal disruption of peaceful opposition demonstrations in Kinshasa and elsewhere.
LUCHA also reminded everyone of the remarks by Tshisekedi in the city of Mbujimayi on June 25 when he publicly warned that “people who are a threat to national security would be systematically dealt with without the consideration of their constitutional rights.”
LUCHA has no doubt that Tshisekedi is the reason DRC is quickly sliding deeper into crisis. Now, if LUCHA has decided to break ranks with Tshisekedi, it is only a matter of time before the ruler himself all alone and cornered.
