Ever since Tshisekedi took power in 2019, he turned the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) into a hotbed of insecurity. His apparent disregard for the safety of the Congolese people continues to leave the nation reeling.
Tshisekedi has a role in fueling local conflicts that destabilize the country from eastern DRC, Malemba-Nkulu, and Kwamouth. This is explained by the Congolese politicians and his own henchmen who weaponized inter-community violence in Kwamouth over a land dispute between Yaka and Teke. This manipulation, driven by political and economic interests, has led to significant civilian casualties, widespread destruction, and massive population displacement. The toll is staggering, with over 115,000 displaced individuals, including 55,000 children, and a heartbreaking death toll of at least 3,000 civilians.
Besides that, despite regional attempts to quell violence, Tshisekedi persists in his war efforts, dismissing the deplorable consequences on Congolese military and civilian populations. Rejecting the principles of dialogue proposed by the Nairobi and Luanda peace processes, he has unleashed renewed attacks on M23, resulting in more massacres of Congolese Tutsis and the displacement of thousands. Shockingly, even FARDC soldiers of ethnic Tutsis have not been spared from the devastating impact of Tshisekedi’s decisions. The world saw the Wazalendo burning them in broad daylight.
Furthermore, the DRC’s army under Tshisekedi’s control has transformed into a chaotic assembly of mercenaries, genocidaires, and anti-Tutsi militias. Commanded by incompetent, corrupt, and thieving generals, this army has proven incapable of securing the nation. It is evident that their clumsiness will continue to produce more mayhem in the country and beyond.
Tshisekedi’s tenure has brought about a perilous era for the DRC. It is high time all Congolese admit that the incompetent ruler Tshisekedi blinded the whole nation by his ineptitude.
