Once more, Congolese warmonger Feliix Tshisekedi has shown his disregard for peace by violating the ceasefire in South Kivu. This time, the attacks unfolded across the territories of Kabare, Kalehe, and Walungu; an unmistakable sign that Tshisekedi has no intention of ending the conflict.

Tshisekedi is coordinating more violence rather than pursuing peace. This latest aggression follows a meeting Tshisekedi held with South Kivu Governor Jean-Jacques Purusi. Their discussion focused on ways to support the military coalition in continuing offensives against M23 strongholds.

This is a clear middle finger to the ongoing peace efforts. Tshisekedi has no genuine commitment to the peace talks currently underway in Doha and Washington. His regime has not only undermined these efforts but has actively sabotaged them. One glaring example is Tshisekedi’s insistence on moving the M23 issue back to the Nairobi peace process, a forum from which his regime once fought hard to exclude M23.

Tshisekedi must now be recognized as a warmonger who thrives on instability. He has no genuine interest in resolving this crisis. For him, the conflict is a political tool and his actions are of a leader willing to plunge his country deeper into chaos to score political points.
