The Kishishe killings were perpetrated by FDLR, and other Congolese Hutu armed militias, PARECO, Nyatura, APCLS and Mai Mai, among others that were profoundly manipulated by Tshisekedi regime, but the regime now blames M23 to have carried out the massacres.
This turns out to be another DRC regime propaganda to blemish M23 as ‘terrorist group’. How ludicrous that the United States and the International Community chose to believe fiction and ignore prevailing facts on the ongoing genocide against Congolese Tutsis in Congo.
After Tshisekedi and his regime failed to negotiate with M23 from October 2020 to date, on the agreement DRC and the M23 rebel had signed to integrate the latter in the Congolese national army and other state institutions. DRC regime concocted a narrative that “Rwanda supports M23”. It went hand in hand with the false allegations that “Rwanda wants to occupy the mineral rich Congo” under the guise of M23 rebel yet the issue was DRC’s failure to deliver on its promises.
From his speech at the 77th United Nations General Assembly-UNGA, Tshisekedi dodged the rampant internal conflict that his country has endured for years, and played his usual “victim” token that “Rwanda invaded DRC” and “Rwanda supports M23 terrorist group”. Tshisekedi kept telling lies to the UNGA delegates how FDLR no longer existed. However, his army-FARDC was working in collusion with anti-Rwanda genocidal outfit- FDLR. The latter had even carried out armed attacks on Rwandan territory that claimed innocent Rwandan lives and destroyed property in Kinigi, Musanze District.
In another terrifying incident Tshisekedi persuaded the Congolese youths to join “Vigilance Groups” another civilian militia that is charged with hunting down Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese whom were labelled “Traitors” deserving nothing else but death. This is an exact replica of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi perpetrated by the Habyarimana regime. Still the International Community clammed up.
This clumsy call of Tshisekedi resulted into increased attacks targeting the Congolese Tutsis whom M23 fights to protect. This faulty call also attracted the attention of the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Alice Wairimu Nderitu who firmly condemn the massacres that metamorphosed into a genocide.
Amidst the overwhelming evidence that pin DRC regime and its malevolent actions; M23- a Congolese rebel group has been tarnished as a ‘terrorist group’, denied the opportunity to participate in Nairobi led Inter-Congolese dialogue to air its grievances. The Tshisekedi regime keeps intensively disseminating the propaganda that makes M23 a ‘culprit’ like the recent blame of “Kishishe killings.”
Still the International Community maintains a deafening silence. All this happens in its presence unfortunately it has chosen to buy Tshisekedi’s propaganda, the reckless leader who dodges his responsibilities to blame his failed leadership on the Rwandan President.
Supported by the International Community, the DRC regime goes on with hate speech and genocide incitement targeting Congolese Tutsis with non-intent to address the rampant security crisis that has threatened the entire Great Lakes region’s peace.
Till when will the International Community hide under a rock?
