Finally, the DRC has ceased all pretense and made its intentions clear – they only are interested in conflict, not peace. Previously, the Tshisekedi regime has been hypocritical about their real intentions, beating around the bush by pretending to be keen on the Luanda and Nairobi peace mechanisms, yet throwing everyone involved into confusion by doing the opposite of what they say.

For instance, while Tshisekedi would participate in the summits in Luanda where he would even sign the declarations from the summits, he would turn into a totally different person on touch down in Kinshasa. He would not only escalate the conflict by ordering FARDC, FDLR, and allied armed groups like Nyatura, Mai-Mai, CODECO and others to heighten attacks against the M23 but also attack the Tutsi and Hema communities.

Tshisekedi has never taken seriously the Luanda-brokered ceasefire and neither has he implemented any of the other clauses within the Luanda and Nairobi agreements.

The demand for the exclusion of Rwandan army officers from the EACRF high command is inarguably the last nail in the coffin of not only the EAC-sponsored peace mission but all the other mechanisms designed by the region to bring peace in eastern DRC. By sowing confusion in the organization of the peace mechanisms, Tshisekedi intends to frustrate regional leaders and force them to cancel all the mechanisms and recall the forces out of DRC.

Once left to his own devices (remember he started with demands for the expulsion of MONUSCO) Tshisekedi would go riot and escalate the conflict and commit genocide with total impunity. He would then use the chaotic situation to postpone the upcoming elections indefinitely, and rule for life.
