With regional and international bodies finally starting to realize that the M23 has solid and valid reasons to fight the Kinshasa regime, Tshisekedi feels cornered.
Not only does the world now know that the M23 Movement is justified to fight for their rights, but also that the Kinshasa regime is not interested in peace in the east of DRC.
Tshisekedi knows that everyone now knows that the coalition of FARDC, FDLR, Mai-Mai, Nyatura, and mercenaries have been violating all ceasefires called by regional peace frameworks.
As the international community and the region are all emphasizing the need for cessation of hostilities in favor of a political solution, the noose is getting tighter around Tshisekedi’s neck.
The Pope’s visit last month, the AU Summit, and the just concluded visit by the French President to DRC have made it dawn on Tshisekedi and his cronies that the world is not fooled by their falsehoods and pretense.
After the M23 Movement announces a ceasefire and withdrawal from all captured territories in response to calls by regional and international stakeholders, the Kinshasa regime feels more exposed.
That is why they have started leveling outrageous accusations against the M23, which are aimed at distracting them from their systematic withdrawal plan. The good news is that everyone is now aware of Tshisekedi’s juvenile gimmicks.
