Edouard Mwangachuchu, a DRC legislator representing the Northern Kivu region, has been under illegal detention on fabricated charges of possession of firearms at his home in Kinshasa and in his mining concession in Bisunzu/Masisi.
Tshisekedi’s Kangaroo Military High Court, which is warming up to take on the case yesterday, added extra charges relating to terrorism, aiding M23, betrayal, insurrection, and attempt to destabilize the sovereignty of the state and formation of an insurgent group.
Mwangachuchu, who has been imprisoned for the past two weeks at Makala National Prison, is also the leader of CNDP and has been a target of the Kinshasa regime, because he is a Tutsi Congolese, and therefore they can concoct charges that he is “working closely with leaders of M23.”
Anybody who understands how authoritarian regimes like that of Tshisekedi work, will know the alleged arms were planted at his home as a means of justifying their concocted charges to get rid of him. Mwangachuchu risks being jailed for 20 years if the propped-up charges are upheld by the court.
His arrest is another pathetic mistake by Tshisekedi’s pariah state to terrorize innocent Congolese in search of political validation and cover for his leadership failure. The accusations of working with M23 are null and void, at least according to sources close to M23 leaders.
It is crystal clear that incompetent Tshisekedi, as has been proven, is no different from his predecessor’s bloody murderous leaders like Joseph Mobutu Seseseko or Laurent Desire Kabila. His fate is likely to be the same. The incompetent leader of DRC learned and forgot nothing.
