Congolese ruler Tshisekedi’s deficiency in self-esteem has made him progressively turn Congo into a radically intolerant society, and the situation has hit epidemic proportions.
A good indicator are the vicious attacks against popular artist Innocent Balume, known by his stage name Innoss’B. The attacks on Balume have specifically exposed how acute the seed of intolerance sown by Tshisekedi and his UDPS has taken root in Congo.
Balume’s crime? The Congolese singer-songwriter, rapper, percussionist, and dancer from Goma sought to be professional when Muyaya’s media hounds tried to inculcate their radical narrative of intolerance in him during a media conference.
Instead of asking him about his impending music concert, they instead diverted him into politics, their objective being to lead him into denouncing Rwanda. Sensing their trap, he smartly told them that as a musician, he had a mission of entertaining everyone, regardless of their political stands on matters in the region.
Muyaya’s media brigade ran with the narrative that the musician was “Rwandan”, and that was the reason he did not want to “denounce Rwanda’s aggression against DRC”.
Tshisekedi and his ex-Matonge gang, who are now part of his cabinet have sown radicalism and intolerance among Congolese people to the extent that divisions have emerged, have been leading to regional violence and conflicts. Soon the entire DRC will be up in flames.
