Congolese ruler Tshisekedi’s forces and their genocidal allies yesterday resumed their futile attacks on the M23 movement in Sake. The outcomes from the battle fields weren’t helping the criminal government forces however. They suffered major blows and had some of their military hardware terribly destroyed.
Using drones, military choppers and fighter jets, FARDC together with FDLR, PARECO, NDC, Mai Mai as well as Wagner mercineries did not even manage to push M23, an inch from its positions, on hills overlooking the plain areas of Sake. As of now M23 controls major areas of Sake and commanders have been meeting the terrorized population to give them messages of hope.
Reports on ground state that FARDC and its coalition attacked in the wee hours of Tuesday with an aim of recapturing Rubaya center and Mweso Town, few Kilometers to the city of Goma. Mweso and Rubaya have been under control of M23 since Friday last week and Monday respectively.
If it wasn’t for the will to comply with established mechanisms which compels M23 to hold fire, withdraw gradually from their seized territories, by now Sarambwe boys would have overrun the city of Goma and seized control of Bukavu, the second biggest city in the entire Kivu Province.
Members of FARDC and Co. who were captured by M23 at the frontline revealed how they have been fighting just for the sake of fighting with no coordinated instructions, tactics and no constant supply of ammunition. They further talked of how their commanders were keen on looting, killing innocent Congolese and raping women.
Continuous provocations by FARDC and its allies have always led to humiliating defeats, loss of human personnel, abandoning heavy military hardware and political humiliation of the incompetent regime of President Tshisekedi. However, Tshisekedi is a not all sad, he is looking forward to use the insecurity in the region to postpone elections in December this year.
A reminder that by attacking M23 positions which earlier had consented to gradual withdrawal, FARDC and its genocidal allies violated all the established mechanisms (Luanda, Nairobi and Kampala agreements) aiming at restoring peace in the region.
