The Kinshasa regime’s complaint at the International Criminal Court (ICC), in The Hague in the Netherlands ostensibly against “Rwanda’s aggression and pillage”, is yet another show of massive Congolese regime talent in drama. The political elite of Kinshasa have a penchant for lavish traveling, from one western capital to the other. Trust them to always find a reason to squander scarce resources on nonsensical “missions.” Tshisekedi’s travel budgets since he fraudulently ascended to power for instance triple the national budget allocated to health, education, and defense, all combined!
Not to be outdone, the Congolese Minister of Justice, Rose Mutombo this week surfaced in the Hague, Switzerland, where she ostensibly went to “file a complaint” with wild allegations about “Rwandan aggression and pillage”- which she handed to Deputy Prosecutor Mandiaye Niang.
Never mind that the ICC already has an ongoing investigation on eastern Congo since 2004 concerning state persecution and genocide against the Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese and Hema communities. The ICC is well aware of the crimes against humanity and genocide committed since July 2002 in the Ituri region and the North and South Kivu provinces.
The ICC prosecution must have been taken by surprise to see the Kinshasa regime minister at the door, not to come to confess the crimes her government is committing against the Congolese Kinyarwanda-speaking communities and the Hema in Ituri, but to file a complaint against the victims! Understandably, the prosecutor has the responsibility to receive all complaints brought in, but the most logical thing they should have done, in this case, should have been to arrest Rose Mutombo right there as part of the investigations they started in 2004 of crimes committed in Ituri and the Kivu provinces against the Congolese. If it is drama they want, drama they should get!
Actually, letting the Kinshasa regime Justice Minister leave The Hague (without arresting her) in itself is a miscarriage of justice and a disservice to the people of Ituri and the Kivu provinces!
