In a demonstration before the Belgian Royal Palace, Congolese citizens living in Belgium raised their voices against Belgium’s support for the inept and corrupt regime of tyrant Tshisekedi in Kinshasa.

In an open letter addressed to King Philippe, they expressed profound grief and frustration, condemning Belgium’s endorsement of a regime that has failed to bring peace, stability, and progress to DRC.

The Congolese protesters painted a miserable (and apt) picture of DRC under Tshisekedi’s rule, where over five million of citizens are forced to live in refugee camps, enduring unimaginable hardships. These citizens are victims of the ongoing conflicts that have plagued eastern DRC, and that the warmongering Tshisekedi fuels – mainly to deflect from his failed rule.

The Congolese diaspora in Belgium criticized Tshisekedi for fueling the conflict for personal and political gain. They know that for Tshisekedi the war also has become a lucrative business, because instability shields him from scrutiny, and while he deflects attention through scapegoating Rwanda, he is busy looting DRC dry, while also selling off its natural resources!

The Congolese diaspora in Belgium also condemns Tshisekedi’s recent decision to lift the moratorium on the death penalty. Since the moratorium was lifted in February, the military judicial has handed down at least 128 death sentences. A decision they see as a pure evil, to terrorize any critic into silence.

In short, these Congolese voices call for an end to Belgium’s blind backing of a regime that is one of the worst in the world.

Tshilombo must be exposed, and roundly condemned!
