Appearing before the UN security council on Monday to explain the security situation in her country, DRC foreign minister Therese Kayikwamba Wagner blatantly lied that the M23 movement has no legit cause for their renewed campaign of liberation, which started two years ago.

Kayikwamba’s statement is naked lies and obfuscation.

It callously disregards the plight of a whole community of her country, the Congolese Tutsi people – herders and pastoralists whose native home is the Kivus, but whom the Tshisekedi regime is busy ethnically cleansing. These are the people that the M23 movement is fighting for, to assert their rights as Congolese citizens, but also to save them from genocide.

The reasons for M23’s existence are well documented, even within the very assembly where Tshisekedi’s foreign minister went to spout regime propaganda.

How can a diplomat of her caliber spread such lies before an assembly whose previous reports openly recorded the plight of a people, she calls “illegitimate”? The answer is one that’s been obvious for a very long time: the entire Kinshasa cabal are heartless ghouls, ready to commit unspeakable crimes as long as the focus of Congolese is turned away from their failures of governance.

Tshisekedi’s foreign affairs minister knows the atrocities she is covering for when she spouts regime propaganda. She is aware how many of those targeted by her boss have had to flee DRC, in search of safety, across borders.

The UN Security Council has consistently denounced the virulent hate speech targeting Tutsi Congolese, often perpetrated by individuals within the same circles as Kayikwamba. Notable examples include inflammatory remarks by the nasty little midget Justin Bitakwira, an MP for Uvira territory, or Constant Mutamba, the goon of a justice minister, and many more.

Coming back to Kayikwamba’s utterances at the UN Security Council, they were nothing short of contemptuous and demonstrated a blatant disregard for mechanisms designed to restore peace in the region, like the Nairobi and Luanda processes, which M23 has demonstrated full commitment to.

In fact, Tshisekedi himself has dismissed these processes or violated them at will.

He is a warmonger and the biggest obstacle to regional peace and stability.
