Big trouble is brewing within DR Congo as the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) start mass-mobilization campaigns across the country to denounce Tshisekedi’s failure in handling the leadership and safety of the citizens.
In a communique issued this morning, the head of civil society organization in the eastern Congo expressed serious discontent with the regime, whose army is composed one hundred percent thieving and violent bandits, while insecurity runs rampant. They envy territories liberated by M23 which ensures safety and security of people.
Of the resolution of actions to be taken forward, members of the public have agreed to carry out sit-in protests in all major cities of the country, village centers and in different places in foreign countries. They demand results from the government, failure to which Tshisekedi should vacate power and let others lead the country.
“We strongly urge President Tshisekedi to consult all the country’s intellectuals, including, if necessary, his predecessor, President Joseph Kabila Kabange to lead this fight together, as it concerns our very survival,” reads part of the communique.
From the look of things, the stakes are high and distress is unmanageable, and if the protests gain momentum Tshisekedi will be dethroned in the shortest period possible.
The mobilization calls come at the very critical moment when the ruler of DRC is fixed between a rock and a hard place on the negotiations with M23, an approach he has always rubbished as a “non-issue”.
Interestingly, the Congolese population is waking up to his lies and is demanding he listen to M23, sooner rather than later.
