A crook is a crook, and a conman is close to the latter.
When categorizing Congo president Felix Tshisekedi, the fine print becomes blurry: he sells Congo as he sold pizza in Brussels – in bits and pieces – and the ownership always remains blurry.
The DR Congo’s accidental president has launched part ownership shares without disclosuring the final number of shares. Congo is up for grabs, and all those bidding, erroneously and delusionally, imagine they are single share holders. SADC, EAC, EU and now the USA, all thinking “Congo is mine”
The first victim of this delusion is former president Joseph Kabila Kambange, who naively assumed Tshisekedi would uphold his oath, secretly sworn on a bible in Belgium. Kabila even took the extra step to have Tshisekedi swear on his father’s grave that the Kabilas will remain unhindered in Congo.
Barely five years after, Tshisekedi betrayed him and had him convinced for treason. Kabila now find himself with a death sentenced on trumped up charges. Real politics had just began in DRC.
This affair was however just a local one in DRC politics. Tshisekedi was to prove more harmful regionally and internationally.
He literally played regional blocks as fiddles, pinning one block against another. Tshisekedi achieved it by promising Congo to all. “Help me and I ll make you rich”, he literally told some leaders in SADC but equally offered it to EAC, CEECA, AU, UN, and EU. Even the USA, Russia and China received the offer from Tshisekedi, “Help me and I ll make you rich”.
Only Tshisekedi would have the audacity to call Russian mercenaries in the Wagner group and then call the French “Legion d’honnerur”, and then call Eric Prince’s New Blackwater outfit.
The Tshisekedi Ponzi scheme is gross, vulgar and also happens to be illegal. Worst of all, he pawns what does not belong to him: Congo’s natural and mineral resources.
All he wants is control, which in turn requires support for ultimate repression. His plan is simple and has has a name. It was done before and will probably continue after him. Mobutu did it and thought it to be effective. Whenever it doubt, whenever challenged; simply pond DRC Congo (and blame the neighbors).
Previous bidders’ in the Tshisekedi’s mining rights concession are already licking their wounds. “Experts” especially those who designed air tight contracts and recruitments to support Tshisekedi’s brutal regime should just take note: Tshisekedi will offer Congo to the highest bidder.
