Despite the barbaric conduct of the Kinshasa government that’s exacerbating the current insecurity in DRC (mainly because Kinshasa has refused to respect the calls to the cessation of hostilities by regional and international stakeholders), the M23 has decided to demonstrate goodwill. The M23 movement has handed over more captured territory to the EACRF and the Adhoc EJVM.
The M23 Movement also has invited the EACRF and the Adhoc EJVM to take over the localities of Karuba, Muremure, Nyamitama, Nkingo, Kagano, Kihuli (trois antennes), and surrounding areas.
It should be noted that the M23 is implementing this significant action as decreed by regional peace mechanisms, despite constant provocations and attacks by the coalition of FARDC, FDLR, Nyatura, Mai-Mai, and mercenaries.
In blatant contempt of the resolutions of the regional leaders, the Kinshasa regime has continued to violate the ceasefire, banking on their superior diplomatic reach and access to media resources to project their violations on the M23 Movement.
However, with the EAC verification mechanism in place to complement the existing EJVM and EACRF, the Kinshasa regime’s anti-peace moves are slowly but surely being exposed.
