The leadership of the Congolese Revolutionary Movement- M23 yesterday announced withdrawal from more occupied territories in the areas of Sake, Muremure and Karuba. This time, territories were handed over to Burundi forces operating under the East African Community Regional Forces (EACRF).
The inept greedy Tshisekedi has again been pushed to the wall to stop his unjustified provocations and attacks on M23; that’s if he is really looking for peace and security in the Eastern DRC.
Definitely, Tshisekedi is not a person looking for peace, the elections are around the corner and the more the country is troubled, the better for him. Postponing presidential elections slated in December this year has been his prime time objective; forget his masquerading charades.
A reminder that prior to handing over territories of Sake, Karuba and Muremure, M23 had surrendered territories in Kitchanga, Rutshuru and Bunagana to Kenyan troops serving under the same EACRF.
Despite all these initiatives by M23 in search for sustainable solution to end the crisis, Tshisekedi and his indisciplined unprofessional forces in coalition with genocidal groups like FDLR, Mai-Mai, PARECO, ACPLS and Wagner mercenaries continued to violate all established agreements.
From the flouting of Kampala declaration, Luanda Peace Roadmap, Nairobi Peace Process and the recent Extra Ordinary EAC Heads of State Summit in Bujumbura; Tshisekedi still shows resolve to continue blatantly disregarding the ceasefire agreements by attacking positions of M23, even when the latter consented to ceasefire.
It is high time Tshisekedi stop running around like a headless chicken scapegoating Rwanda and condemning M23; or else he will have no option but to force M23 to attack his forces. This time consequences on his regime might be irreversible.
